Prince the Green Frog - On our family farm in Ontario, Canada, we have a pond which is home to many types of wildlife. At night we can hear the frogs from the pond singing and it  can get very loud; the population is thriving! My son @hitchcock7034 has captured many photos of these frogs which I have used to create this composition. The range of expressions they have is amazing and the resemblance to the many faces of Kermit the Frog is uncanny. This piece is named Prince for my favorite Muppet movie when I was a child- The Frog Prince. The piece (11x14) is created with Polychromos and Luminance professional lightfast colored pencils on Stonehenge paper by Legion. In this piece there are at least 20 layers of pencil overlapped with multiple colours to get the final effect. Original and prints available for sale.

I am a Canadian artist and have been working with colour pencils since the winter of 2018. I started by working on many different subjects but quickly realized I enjoy working on animal and bird portraits. I choose animals I have encountered personally and have a memory or emotion that I can attach to them. Attempting to transfer those feelings to the portrait is where the fun and challenge lies.
